MISSION STATEMENT

Through disciplined and professional training, we provide a quality performing arts education for aspiring young artists in the Intermountain Area.  We offer performance based instruction, where students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talent and growth through community presentations.  We are dedicated to building self-worth in a safe and encouraging learning environment.  We offer a wide range of classes suitable for all ages and all levels.

No words could be truer than those of the modern dance pioneer, Martha Graham.  Dance is a way to express what you cannot say, what you feel, what you don’t understand, and what you are trying to understand.  Dance is a language that everyone understands.  From the time I was a young child, I knew that dance was going to be an important part of my life.  Before I knew what dance was, it was already a part of my life. 

Creative movement is vital to a child's growth.  I want to be instrumental in broadening the minds of the young and to keep them active and inspired, which is why I am making my once upon a dream a reality.  Candee's Dance Shoppe was founded to bring the performing arts to the Intermountain Area.  I was blessed to have an education in the theatrical arts and I want to pass that knowledge on to young minds who can also benefit from its presence in their lives.

Dance can offer a child who can’t communicate verbally a way to communicate physically.  Dance can help a child’s imagination to continue to grow and flourish.  Dance can support creativity.  Dance classes can create a social environment in which students can learn and grow together.  Dance can keep a body active and healthy.  Dance can help a child learn and explore the world around them.

The importance of dance, creative movement, and performing arts for a young child's physical and mental growth is substantial.  There are so many different reasons why a child should move and more importantly move in a creative way that is structured.  Research strongly supports that moving can help the body and brain develop, but more importantly, a child's research might confirm that dancing is just plain fun!

Candee's Dance Shoppe is excited to announce that dance classes will resume mid-September 2022 at the Intermountain Fairgrounds in the 4H Building.  Thank you to the staff and board of the IM Fairgrounds.
